The successful candidate will support multidisciplinary research programs in diabetes, genomics, precision medicine, and translational healthcare by applying computational and statistical approaches to large-scale biological and clinical datasets.

1. Position: Bioinformatics Specialist
2. Location: Chennai (On-site)
3. Role Description:
-The role involves the analysis of biological datasets, including genome-wide association studies (GWAS), next-generation sequencing (NGS), transcriptomics, and other high-dimensional datasets.
-The candidate will develop and maintain reproducible bioinformatics pipelines, perform quality control and statistical analyses, integrate omics with longitudinal clinical data, and generate scientific insights that contribute to high-impact publications, grant proposals, and collaborative research projects.
-The Bioinformatics Specialist must have the academic efficiency to design analytical strategies, ensure data quality and reproducibility, document workflows, and adopt emerging bioinformatics methodologies and best practices relevant to diabetes and metabolic disease research.
4. Qualifications :
Master's or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Biotechnology, or a related quantitative discipline.
5. Experience & Technical Skills:
-Strong experience in bioinformatics analysis of genomic, sequencing, and multi-omics datasets.
-Hands-on experience with GWAS, next-generation sequencing (NGS) data processing, variant analysis, quality control, and annotation workflows.
-Proficiency in statistical analysis, data visualization, and interpretation of biological datasets.
-Experience developing reproducible computational workflows using programming languages such as R, Python, or similar scripting tools.
-Familiarity with commonly used bioinformatics software, databases, and public genomic resources.
-Experience integrating biological and clinical datasets for translational research is highly desirable.
6. Research & Professional Skills:
-Demonstrated passion for genetics research, genomic discovery, and the identification of novel molecular mechanisms underlying diabetes and metabolic diseases.
-Strong interest in biomarker discovery through the integration of genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and other multi-omics datasets.
-Ability to develop and apply computational methods for identifying disease-associated variants, molecular signatures, therapeutic targets, and precision medicine strategies.
-Experience in designing robust bioinformatics analyses and translating complex biological data into meaningful scientific insights for publications, grant proposals, and collaborative research.
-Familiarity with population genetics, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), polygenic risk analysis, variant prioritization, functional annotation, and pathway enrichment analysis is highly desirable.
