Applications are invited for the post of Project Associate (01 No) & Field Assistants (04 Nos) at Centre for Ocean Research, Sathyabama Institute of Science & Technology, SEED project funded by DST, Govt. of India.

1. Project Title
Poverty alleviation and livelihood development of Irular, Kurumbas, Kattunayakan, Paniyan and Todas communities of Tiruvallur. Chengalpattu, Villupuram and Niligiris Districts of Tamil Nadu
2. Project Duration : 3 Years (36 months)
3. Principal Investigator:
Dr. B. Sheela Rani, Director (Research)
4. Fellowship:
Project Associate: Rs. 31,000/- with 30% HRA per month as per project norms Field Assistant: Rs. 20,000/- with 10% HRA per month as per project norms
5. Essential Qualifications
Project Associate: Master's degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, Biotechnology, Marine Science, Zoology, Environmental Science, or an equivalent degree in Fisheries Sciences from a recognized university or equivalent.
6. Nature of Work: To communicate to all the tribal community for training technology transfer, product development and commercialization.
The project associate has to travel to Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Villupuram and Niligiris and coordinate the overall objectives of the projects for implement the scientific interventions to the community. Candidates with experience under societal project is desirable.
7. Field Assistants: Bachelor's degree in any Science stream (one post for one district). Preference will be given to the district based local candidates.
Nature of Work: To interact with the tribal community and to manage the facilitation center to be established at the respective district local area. The candidate has to coordinate with the community for scientific interventions of the project.

This position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The selected Project associate will be encouraged to enroll Ph.D., as per institution norms.
