3. Employment Type: Full-time, Contract (1 year, extendable up to 3 years)
4. Probation Period: 3 months
5. Position Overview:
6. Qualification Required: M.Sc. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
7. Experience : 7-3 years of relevant hands-on experience. This role is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, can work independently with minimal supervision, and is eager to contribute to cutting-edge product development. The current postion will report to the CSO.
8. Key Responsibilities:
-Perform routine and advanced molecular biology experiments with high accuracy and reproducibility
-Independently execute workflows related to NGS library preparation and target
enrichment or mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays
-Design, optimize, troubleshoot, and document experimental workflows.
-Support assay development and validation for liquid biopsy and wellness-focused applications
-Perform nucleic acid extraction, quantification, QC, PCR/qPCR, and related downstream analyses
-Maintain accurate laboratory records, SOPs, and experimental documentation.
-Analyze experimental data and prepare concise summaries and reports.
-Contribute to protocol development, reagent evaluation, and process improvements
-Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality, and operational standards.
-Collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members in a startup setting
9. Required Qualifications
M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Life Sciences/Biochemistry, or related discipline
1-3 years of relevant research or industry experience
Hands-on experience in either:
NGS library preparation, target enrichment, and related sequencing workflows
OR
Mammalian cell culture, cell maintenance, and cell-based molecular assays
Strong foundation in molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, quantification, etc.). Ability to independently plan and execute experiments with minimal supervision
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills. Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-evolving startup environment
10. Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in assay development, validation, or translational research
Familiarity with liquid biopsy workflows, cfDNA/cfRNA handling, or biomarker development Exposure to primer/probe design, sequencing QC metrics, or bioanalytical methods
Experience in handling clinical or human biological samples is an advantage
11. Compensation & Benefits
Salary: INR 40,000-50,000 per month (inclusive of all emoluments), commensurate with experience
Based on performance, stock options may be offered after 1 year
12. Contract Term: This is an initial 1-year contractual role with a 3-month probation period. Based on performance of the company and project requirements, the role will be extended annually for up to 3 years.
