Role Summary
They are seeking a skilled and motivated microbiologist to join their team. The chosen person will take care of the microbiology lab according to USP-1117 standards, perform tests on microbes, and help with farming projects that focus on minimizing losses after harvest. This role involves collaborating with farmers, agricultural experts, and government entities to pilot and field-test new storage technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate the microbiological laboratory in compliance with USP-1117 standards for research and quality control.
-Conduct microbial examination, culturing, identification, media preparation, and autoclaving.
-Perform comprehensive bacteriological analyses of water, including coliform testing in accordance with IS:1622:1981 (R.2009).
-Conduct quantitative and pathogen analysis of food samples in compliance with IS standards
- Assess the disinfection efficacy of enumeration methods on fresh produce in scientific research projects and experimental procedures.
-Implement routine quality control assessments on laboratory consumables to ensure process integrity.
-Follow and interpret standard protocols or test methods.
-Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for microbiological laboratory processes.
-Prepare detailed reports, maintain accurate records, and document findings to ensure traceability.
-Collaborate with collaborators, farmers, agricultural experts, and government entities to pilot and field-test new storage technologies.
Requirements & Skills
-B.Sc./M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biotechnology or Food Microbiology.
-Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-Good written and verbal communication skills.
-Self-motivated and open to continuous learning.
- Demonstrated experience in a microbiology laboratory setting.
-Proficient in microbiological techniques and methodologies.
-Skilled in using laboratory equipment and relevant software.
-High attention to detail.
