1. Designation: Research Associate- Sustainable Agriculture

2. Division: Sustainable Agriculture

3. Location: TERI-Gram, Gwal Pahari, Gurugram

4. Key Responsibilities:

a. Manage and operate fermentation instrumentation and process control systems to ensure consistent and efficient microbial cultivation.

b. Oversee the setup, sterilization, inoculation, and operation of fermentation equipment such as bioreactors and fermenters adhering to established protocols.

c. Conduct regular monitoring and maintenance of fermentation systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and quality standards.

d. Monitor critical fermentation parameters including temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, pressure, agitation, and nutrient levels using advanced control systems and analytical tools.

e. Optimize microbial growth conditions to enhance yield, product quality, and overall process efficiency.

f.Collaborate with scientists and research teams to support fermentation-related activities across various projects.

g. Collect, analyze, and document routine process data.

h. Prepare detailed project reports in alignment with research timelines and deliverables.

i. Identify and report equipment malfunctions or deviations in process parameters that may affect performance or product integrity.

j. Coordinate with facility management for timely resolution of technical issues.

5. Educational Qualification:

M. Tech / Master's degree in Engineering, Fermentation Technology, Industrial Biotechnology, or a closely related field.

6. Experience:

2+ years in the relevant research areas

7. Skills :

a. Must have strong understanding of fermentation principles, microbiology, equipment operation, and strict adherence to good lab practices, biosafety and quality control protocols

b. Should be able to work independently and with the existing team to make sure projects are on track

c. Stay updated with the new research and development and contribute to the continuous improvement of fermentation techniques, processes, and safety practices.

d. Hands-on experience with fermentation instrumentation, bioreactor operations, and process control systems

e. Hands-on knowledge of Microbiology techniques (cultivation of fungi and bacteria), fermentation and downstream processing along with troubleshooting strategies.

f. Highly motivated, solution-oriented, and a good team player
