(Fermentation Scientist)
Details are provided below 
1. Designation: Research Associate/Associate Fellow
(Fermentation Scientist)
2. Location: TERI-Gram
3. Division: Sustainable Agriculture
4. Key Responsibilities: 
a. Would be responsible for the setup, operation, ensuring optimal conditions for microbial growth, harvesting and have involvement in downstream processing
b. Regular monitoring, and maintenance of fermentation equipment and processes to set up, sterilize, inoculate, and operate fermentation equipment (e.g., bioreactors, fermenters, centrifuges) according to established protocols
c. Monitor fermentation parameters such as temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, pressure, agitation, and nutrient levels using control systems and analytical instruments.
d. Should be able to optimize the growth, yield, product quality, and improve process efficiency of different microbial cultures required in the project, liazing with Scientists in the Programme for fermentation related work
e. Should be able to collect routine data and prepare project report for various research projects as per the project timelines
f. Identify and report equipment malfunctions or process deviations that may impact performance or product quality to the facility management
5. Educational Qualification: 
M. Tech in any area of IndustrialBiotechnology/
M.Sc.in Microbiology, Biotechnology with good academic record throughout
6. Skills : 
a. Must have strong understanding of fermentation principles, microbiology, equipment operation, and strict adherence to good lab practices, biosafety and quality control protocols
b. Should be able to work independently and with the existing team to make sure projects are on track
c. Stay updated with the new research and development and contribute to the continuous improvement of fermentation techniques, processes, and safety practices.
d. Hands-on knowledge of Microbiology techniques (cultivation of fungi and bacteria), fermentation and downstream processing along with troubleshooting strategies.
7. Experience: 
4-5-year experience in fermentation facility of Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations
