7. Position Summary
They  are seeking a skilled and motivated Research Associate to join their Protein Sciences group. The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting their  therapeutic discovery programs by producing and characterizing high-quality recombinant proteins and antibodies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the purification and characterization of DNA and proteins (both antibodies and various antigens), with knowledge of antibody sequence, structure, biophysics and function.
8. Key Responsibilities
a. Purify DNA expression constructs for mammalian cell transfection.
b. Perform and optimize transfections in mammalian expression systems.
c. Conduct ELISA-based assays to characterize antibodies and antigens.
Purify antibodies and antigens using Protein A and Ni-NTA
chromatography workflows.
d. Carry out protein characterization, including yield and concentration determination, and SDS-PAGE for purity and integrity assessment.
e. Ensure accurate documentation in electronic lab notebooks and present results to cross-functional project teams.
f. Contribute to method development and process optimization to improve efficiency and throughput.
9. Preferred Qualifications
-B. Sc. or M. Sc. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related discipline, with 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
-Demonstrated expertise in protein expression and purification from mammalian cells (Expi, CHO or other cell systems).
-Experience in conducting basic antibody and antigen characterization by ELISA.
-Working knowledge and understanding of antibody sequence, structure, and biophysics/biochemistry is highly desirable.
-Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills in a dynamic research environment.
-Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
Strong record of meticulous bench work, attention to detail, and reliable data generation.
