The Energy and Resources Institute ( TERI ) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fermentation Scientist (R&D) to join Sustainable Agriculture Programme. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth knowledge of microbiology, fermentation techniques, and downstream processing, and will contribute to ongoing research and development projects focused on microbial systems for sustainable agricultural solutions.

1. Position Title: Fermentation Scientist (R&D)
2.Division: Sustainable Agriculture Programme
3. Location: TERI Gram, Gwal Pahadi
4. Key Responsibilities:
-Manage the setup, operation, and maintenance of fermentation equipment including bioreactors, fermenters, and centrifuges.
-Monitor and optimize key fermentation parameters (pH, temperature, oxygen levels, pressure, agitation, nutrients) to ensure optimal microbial growth and yield.
-Perform microbial quality assessments and routine microbiological techniques such as cultivation of fungi and bacteria.
-Coordinate and liaise with scientists to support fermentation requirements across projects.
-Collect, analyze, and report fermentation data and contribute to timely delivery of research project reports.
-Participate in downstream processing and contribute to product yield and quality improvement.
-Identify and report equipment malfunctions or process deviations in compliance with safety and quality control protocols.
-Remain updated with current research to support innovation in fermentation and bioprocessing techniques.
5. Qualifications :
M.Tech in Industrial Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Microbiology/Biotechnology with strong academic credentials.
6. Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of hands-on experience in R&D-based fermentation in academic, industrial, or S&T organizations.
7. Key Skills & Attributes:
-Strong grasp of fermentation science, microbiological principles, and process optimization.
-Familiarity with GLP, biosafety, and QC protocols.
-Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills in fermentation and microbiological systems.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
-Highly motivated, solution-oriented, and a proactive team player.
