1. Position: Consultant (Project Associate)
2. Division: Sustainable Agriculture
3. Job Location:
The Energy and Research Institute ( TERI)  Gram, Gwal Pahari, Gurugram, Haryana.
4. Position Summary: The position seeks a candidate to contribute to a project focused on exploring bioactive compounds from microbial sources. The role requires expertise in microbial cultivation, extraction, and bioassay techniques, along with a strong background in microbiology, biotechnology, or related fields.
5. Key Responsibilities:
a. Identify and isolate bioactive compounds from microbial sources (microalgae, bacteria, fungi, etc.).
b. Optimize microbial cultivation and fermentation processes for high-yield bioactive production.
c. Develop and implement extraction and purification protocols for bioactive compounds.
d. Cultivation, maintenance and harvesting of microalgae in the field raceway ponds.
e. Collect data and maintain record, data analysis and presentation, and submission of reports and manuscripts.
f. Work with cross-functional teams, including microbiologist, chemist, agronomist, and process engineers, to translate findings into scalable solutions.
6. Qualifications:
M.Sc. degree in any areas of Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Environmental Sciences with minimum 1 year of laboratory experience in microbiology research.
7. Skills:
a. Proven experience in microbiology techniques (cultivation of microalgae, fungi and bacteria), fermentation and downstream processing.
b. Experience in extraction of microbial metabolites.
c. Proficiency in analytical techniques (GCMS, HPLC).
d. Must be able to work independently and in teams.
e. Must have good communication skills.
